against the Crown, and allowed at fourteen hundred and twenty-six dollars and thirty-nine cents. The original Allocatur was forwarded to the Crown Solicitor on the tenth instant with a formal request for payment of the amount appearing due thereby.

I have further to request that I may be furnished with an order on the Colony Treasury for the immediate payment of the above sum. Mr. Saint sincerely hopes that there may be no unnecessary delay in the payment of this money. His right to costs against the Crown is unquestionable, as the Judgment of the Supreme Court of Hong Kong, in his favor on the question of Costs, is of record. The Prerogative of the Crown cannot be endangered in any way by his being paid - as the written Judgment delivered by the Chief Justice provides that his decision in Mr Saint's case shall not be taken as a precedent in any future case, and because Mr Saint is willing to accept employment from the Government of Macao, from whom, as stated by the Crown Solicitor in open Court on more than one occasion, ample security has been taken for the payment of all costs that might be incurred by the Crown in the prosecutions against Mr Larint.
